Why are the results poor?
Handwriting varies far more than print. Block capitals work best; cursive rarely does. Dedicated handwriting models are not available offline in the browser yet.
Can I improve accuracy?
Scan at 300 dpi, keep pages straight, increase contrast (Scan to PDF’s Document enhancement helps).
Is my scan uploaded for OCR?
No. The recognition engine runs inside your browser tab. Only the language data file is downloaded, and it is cached for next time.
